About

Having been established since 1996, Alan McDonald has turned the firm into a go-to for legal enquiries relating to employment law.

Demand for the firm’s expert legal services grew rapidly in Victoria following dramatic changes to employment laws in the late 90s. And when more radical changes were made in 2009, vastly increasing workplace rights, demand grew even further.

The firm believes 87% of employees from the top to the bottom do not have adequate access to free legal advice when dealing with employment problems, but strongly need them. Which is one of the reasons why McDonald Murholme continues to focus on the employment law sector.

Today, the firm comprises of a diverse bunch of bright young lawyers as well as some experienced veterans in the field.

Specialising in employment law, they can assist with:

  • Keeping your job
  • High-income employees and contractors
  • Workplace bullying issues
  • Unfair dismissal cases
  • Redundancy situations

and more.

Terrible experience with Trent and Alexandra. Poor communication, I was handed from one person to another, documentation was beyond appalling and there was no support or adequate representation. Felt like they were acting on behalf of the other side.

Alan McDonald is a rude and arrogant bully towards his clients.
Does not care about customer service, just his judgemental opinion.
That was our one and only experience. He even threatened us when we enquired about our objectives.

Great first interview with Alan, followed by different staff contacting me each time more information was needed. I was represented by Arthur at my conciliation . My settlement included payment for accrued leave which was not paid by my former employer. When I asked Arthur to follow up to get my entitlements, he informed me that there would be an extra charge, which would have taken what I was owed.
I followed up with Alan, and was assured that he would contact me , which did not happen.
A disappointing outcome from people who I trusted to make sure that I was paid what was agreed upon

Just an outstanding service. These guys really go the extra mile and keep you informed all the way. The advice is excellent and I couldn’t be happier with my experience with them. My lawyer was Trent Hancock and it was such a relief to have someone so incredibly talented representing me. Whilst I dearly hope I never need them again I wouldn’t hesitate to re-engage them if needed. Very highly recommend!!
